Bought the Book?
Dear aspiring MSL:
In the past, I made the book available only as part of a comprehensive coaching program. Knowing how to use the book is as important as getting the book.
There is another reason why the book is deliberately not made widely available (on Amazon.com or B&N online, for example) or priced for “popular consumption”.
If you had read one of my recent “open letters” to medical science liaisons, you would understand that I look very carefully at the motivation of the person entering the profession.
Many of my past coaching clients have become directors and pharmaceutical executives. Many more who have bought the book and became MSLs will, at some point, enter into MSL management or other pharmaceutical careers. Thus I take seriously the prospect that the future of the MSL profession and even the industry itself will be shaped by entrants to the MSL profession today.
I’m less interested in selling many copies of the book as I am concerned that “the right people” get a hold of this book in their quest to become MSLs.
If you’ve bought the book and you’ve read my open letter and you know that you are in this for the right reasons, send me an email and I’ll be happy to look over your cover letter and resume and give you feedback based on the principles I covered in the book (in particular, the 3 checklists in the book for overcoming the “no prior experience” objection).
Jane
